| 内容記述 | We report a study on the acquisition of specialized senses of polysemous words and discuss their teaching methods. Second-year university pharmacy students were taught polysemous technical terms for eight weeks in the spring and fall semesters of 2021. They were given pre-/post-tests to analyze learning gains of both general and technical senses. We also conducted a survey on student attitudes toward learning the technical terms with polysemous senses. The results suggested that specialized word senses must be explicitly taught, even if students have learned the general sense of polysemous words prior to entering university. |
